Most free URL shorteners have a catch: analytics are behind a paywall, the links expire, or you get peppered with ads. HelpingApps URL Shortener is built differently — every stat you'd actually want to see is free, and your links stay alive as long as your account does.
What you get for free
When someone clicks one of your short links, HelpingApps captures:
| Stat | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Country | Where in the world your clicks are coming from |
| Device | Mobile, tablet or desktop |
| Browser | Chrome, Safari, Firefox… |
| Operating system | Android, iOS, Windows, macOS… |
| Referrer | Which site sent the click (where available) |
| Click timeline | Daily click count over the last 30 days |
All of this is free. No credit card, no "upgrade to see country data".
Custom aliases: make your links memorable
Instead of a random code like /x9Kp2, you can set a custom alias when creating a link — for example, /launch or /resume. Custom aliases are first-come-first-served and must be 3–32 characters using letters, digits, _ or -.
Safe by default
Every URL you shorten is automatically checked against Google Safe Browsing before the link is created. If the destination is flagged as malware or phishing, the link is blocked. This keeps your branded short links trustworthy — your audience won't land on something harmful.
QR code included
Open any link's stats page and tap the QR button. You'll get a scannable QR code for that short URL — useful for print materials, slides or posters.
Who should use it
- Students — shorten a long Google Forms link before sharing it in a WhatsApp group or on paper.
- Teachers — put a short, clean URL on the board instead of something unreadable.
- Anyone sharing resources — turn a long Drive folder URL into something you can say out loud.
Rate limits & fair use
Free accounts can create up to 100 new short links per day — far more than most people will ever need. There's no click cap, so popular links work indefinitely.
