Getting started with eNotes

Help › Getting started

eNotes is the digital notebook inside HelpingApps. You can write notes, import PDFs to annotate, and keep everything synced across your devices. Here's how to get going in a couple of minutes.

1. Create your account

Open the app and sign in with email, Google, or — on iPhone and iPad — Sign in with Apple. Your account is what keeps your notebooks safely backed up and available on every device.

2. Make your first notebook

  1. Open eNotes from the home screen.
  2. Tap New notebook and give it a name (e.g. "Biology").
  3. Start writing — your work saves automatically.

3. Import a PDF to annotate

Have a textbook chapter or worksheet as a PDF? Import it straight into a notebook and mark it up:

  1. Inside a notebook, choose Import PDF.
  2. Pick the file from your device.
  3. Highlight, underline and write directly on the pages. (See our guide on annotating PDFs on a tablet.)

4. Your notes sync automatically

When you're signed in, notebooks back up to the cloud and appear on your other devices. Start on your laptop, continue on your tablet — your notes follow you.

5. Ask the AI Assistant about your notes

Open any notebook, tap the golden AI button in the toolbar. The assistant reads your pages (handwriting + typed text + imported PDF content) and answers questions with page references you can tap to jump back.
